Hi! My name’s Lavcho and I’m very happy again to be ”Hristo Yassenov” Comprehensive School’s Travel Mascot. |
“Sustainable Ecology in the Europe of the future” – his is our school’s new project.
Hello friends,
Do you remember me? I am Lavcho – the mascot, which the younger pupils at “Hristo Yassenov” Comprehensive School chose two years ago. My task was to travel and tell about my adventures in the partner countries and schools. Now, after an year’s rest, it’s time for us to renew contacts with our old friends and work, together with you, towards a new cause – Ecology.
Thanks to the European Union programme “Erasmus+” and our teachers we have started a new partnership with schools from the UK, Sweden, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Spain, Italy and Turkey. Some of them we already knew from our previous Comenius project, but others we met for the first time in Estonia, where the first partnership Planning and Review Meeting was held.
The Partnership “Sustainable Ecology” started in September this year and it is going to last for three years. The aim is that you, the pupils, acquire new knowledge and experience about our environment through a variety of activities and tasks. Teachers should help for working out a new Science syllabus, which will involve teaching ecology and practical knowledge about environment. They should also share good practices and innovative approaches, encourage a profound understanding of environmental issues, like conservation, recycling and renewable materials. It is important that everybody disseminate the information about their work and engage the community at large with their causes. Are you ready to start? There is a lot of work to be done.
